Interesting book, should have been edited better, lots of redunancy. Keith was full of himself and cannot be accused of being humble when it related to himself. Lost of interesting tales of big game hunts in days gone by. A good read if you enjoy hunting tales.
Any thing written by Elmer is a great read, especially the stories about his early adventures in the game fields and his stories about the effectiveness of popular firearms and bullets in the early part of the 20th. century.
Great stories but more importantly, great tips specific to different game and conditions. E. Keith was undoubtedly a true expert and a good writer as well.
Love the book, great read. Explains more about Keith's belief in heavy-for-caliber bullets, and talks about his hunting adventures.
This is a great read. I've looked for this book in the print version for years and have been unnable to find it in a used bookstore. Buying it in this format has been the answer. It is an extremely interesting read and a great purchase.
Bought this for my boyfriend who has been an Elmer Keith fan for many years. He's not so much a book person as a magazine guy, but he was so happy to get this book and started reading it right away. He's enjoying it immensely!
An amazing book, full of hunting wisdom that is just as valuable today as it was then. His knowledge of the different game animals is just mind boggling. Elmer's writing skills puts you right beside him as he hunts. A must have book for any Hunter.
